Backtests and Live Results

Uploading a backtest, connecting Myfxbook, verification, and how performance badges are earned.

Results are optional, but they are what buyers look at first. You can show a backtest, live results, or both.

Uploading a backtest

  1. In the product form open Backtest results.
  2. Under What is this file? choose Backtest.
  3. Upload a CSV of your trades.
  4. If the file has no deposit or balance row, enter the Starting balance.
  5. Save. FXNook draws the balance curve and works out the numbers.

What the file must look like

  • A CSV (a .txt or .tsv also works). MetaTrader deals lists, Myfxbook and FX Blue exports all work.
  • A header row within the first 40 lines, with a Profit column and at least one other known column.
  • Commas, semicolons, tabs or pipes between columns.
  • At least 2 trades to be read; at least 20 trades to be shown to buyers.
  • Up to 20 MB.

HTML reports are refused

MetaTrader’s HTML report is not a CSV. In MetaTrader export the deals list as CSV, or open the report in Excel and save it as CSV.

What buyers see

A balance curve, monthly results and: net profit, win rate, gross profit and loss, profit factor, expected payoff, average and largest win and loss, maximum drawdown, recovery factor, winning and losing streaks, lot sizes, symbols and period.

Showing live results

Choose one of three ways:

OptionHow it works
Connect my Myfxbook account (recommended)Log in with your Myfxbook email and password and pick the account. Results refresh automatically, about once an hour. Your password is stored encrypted. Save the product within an hour of connecting.
Upload a live performance CSVChoose Real live results and upload the file.
Use my public results pageA public Myfxbook, MQL5 or FX Blue page. A Myfxbook link looks like myfxbook.com/members/name/account/12345.

Verification of live results

  1. FXNook checks every live result before buyers see it. Until then only you see a note that it is waiting.
  2. When approved, the tab becomes Live results and the product shows Verified live results.
  3. If refused, you see the reason. Uploading a new file or connecting another account starts a new check.

Performance badges

Earned only from verified live results, recalculated whenever the results change. Up to two show next to “Licensing verified”.
