How to Upload a Product

Step-by-step overview of submitting your EA, and the checks a listing must pass.

Updated September 19, 2026 2 min read

This is the order of work for a new product. Licensing and results each have their own guide; this one covers the listing itself and the checks it must pass.

Step by step

  1. Create the product. In your Vendor Dashboard go to Products > Add New Product.
  2. Set the platform and type in Licensing step 1: MT4 or MT5, Expert Advisor or indicator. The licensing file is built for this, so set it first.
  3. Set your licence prices in the Licence prices boxes under FXNook licensing – see Screenshots, specs and prices. The normal WooCommerce price box is not used.
  4. Add licensing to your EA and compile it – see Adding licensing to an EA.
  5. Tick “Downloadable” and attach the compiled file.
  6. Write the listing: name, a description of at least 500 characters, one category, a product image, and at least 3 screenshots or videos.
  7. Fill in the specs and, if you have them, backtest or live results.
  8. Save. If the listing passes the checks below, it goes to verification and is published when approved.

The checks your listing must pass

If any check fails, the product is saved as a draft and the problems are listed at the top of the form under “Saved as a draft. Fix these and save again to publish”.

Files you can upload

  • Use .ex4, .ex5, .set, or a .zip of them. The limit is 10 MB per file.
  • The upload also accepts .mq4, .mq5 and .mqh, but do not use them – see the warning below.
  • Refused: any file with a program or script extension anywhere in its name, such as strategy.php.ex4 or an .exe or .dll.
  • Downloads are always unlimited for customers and never expire; you do not need to set a limit.

Never upload your source code

Upload only compiled .ex4 / .ex5 files, or a ZIP of them with your set files. Never upload .mq4/.mq5 source or the FXNook .mqh licensing file – anyone who downloads them has your EA and your signing secret.

Things FXNook sets for you

  • Status, visibility and reviews are managed by FXNook: products are published when approved, visible in the shop, and open to reviews.
  • The version number shows after the product name, and every release appears in the Version history tab.
  • Customers can buy one licence at a time, so there is no quantity box.
